Looking angry, Harry turned on his heels and went to his desk, grabbing a tablet off of it. He came back and shoved it in Bond's face, showing him a communique from Starfleet. "Yes. We can. Maybe you don't have all the bloody information, Bond. And for good reason, this is classified as hell so I'm not able to tell the entire bridge crew."

Bond looked at the screen, then shook his head.

"If we follow those orders, you're putting the whole ship at risk!"

Harry regarded him coolly. "I guess it's too bad then that I'm the captain and not you."

Bond fumed, his lips a tight line. He visibly fought for control for a long moment.

"Of course. Sir," he said, low and tight with temper.

Harry was even more angry that James was angry. James was the one who'd been openly insubordinate. And Harry was already on edge about how his relationship with James might be perceived, that someone might get an inkling...

He grabbed James' arm. "That's right," he snapped.

The tension in Bond's shoulders melted away instantly. His gaze dropped and his knees landed at Harry's feet.

"Yes, sir," he said quietly.

Harry looked genuinely shocked. Honestly, for a moment he couldn't figure out how to react at all, though his instincts were warring between anger, surprise, and arousal.

But what eventually made its way out of his mouth was, "That's more like it."

Bond nodded, then dared to look up.

"I'll follow orders," he promised.

He nodded, and tightened his fingers in James' hair.
